Summer is approaching fast, and since many of us couldn’t enjoy it to its fullest last year due to the global pandemic, we’re sure you’re excited to get back out there and discover something new. That’s why we wanted to make a list of our top ideas for exploring nature this summer. It’s time to get out there and see all this beautiful world has to offer us.

By far, the best way to truly appreciate nature is to go live in it for the weekend, regardless of if you’re alone, with a group of friends, or with the whole family. If you don’t feel comfortable sleeping in the woods, RVs are a great way to live in nature while retaining some modern conveniences. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with going about it this way. Sometimes, people need an RV that feels like home to enjoy all the natural wonders around them. Whether you decide to rough it or live in luxury while outdoors, you’ll find so much to take in and experience.

Hiking and Biking

If you don’t want to spend the night in the wild, hiking is another popular option. Mountainous areas are great hiking spots, but forests and deserts can also make for interesting scenery. If hiking feels too slow for you, mountain biking is a great alternative. It’s harder to stop and enjoy what’s around you, but it provides the added benefit of being able to cover more ground and go farther than you could on foot.

Nature-Based Crafts

If you’re more of a homebody who doesn’t want to stray too far from the house, there’s no need to worry. You still have plenty of options. Our personal favorite is using things you find in nature to create fun crafts. If you need some ideas, sites like Pinterest offer countless ideas to give you that creative spark. All we ask is that you don’t destroy nature to build your masterpiece.

Play Outdoor Games

Whether you’re throwing around the pigskin or playing a friendly game of bags, outdoor games are obviously a great way to get out there. The only thing we’d like to recommend to spice things up is to play somewhere other than your own backyard. Go to your local park or a nearby beach—anywhere that provides a change of scenery and a chance to see something new.

Nature Scavenger Hunt

Our final idea for exploring nature this summer is perfect for those with kids. At your next family or neighborhood gathering, create a list of items you might find in the environment, and tell all of the kids to go searching for them. Don’t be afraid to get adults involved if they’re interested. It’s a really fun way to see what nature has to offer, especially if you provide a prize for the winner.
